Founded by a nurse practitioner

Founded by a nurse practitioner. Family-run since 2004.

Andrea Kohn has called Montgomery County home since 1967. She earned her BSN at The Catholic University of America and her NP credential at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, after more than two decades at the bedside as a registered nurse. Her expertise is in geriatric psychiatry — the field behind the most difficult dementia, Alzheimer's, and behavioral health presentations most families cannot get answers for anywhere else.

She founded Medical Consulting & Management — known today as MCM Private Care — in 2004 because she kept watching the same thing happen: bright, capable families losing their footing in a healthcare system that wasn't built to help them. Discharge plans that fell apart in 48 hours. Medications no one reconciled. Caregivers sent out without an NP in the loop. Specialists who didn't talk to each other. She started MCM to be the medical advocate in the family's corner — the one who shows up, stays in the chart, talks to the doctors, hand-matches and trains the caregivers, and translates what's actually happening into language a spouse or adult child can act on.

Today Andrea works part-time alongside Dr. Nicholas Schor at Olney Psychiatry, a Montgomery County geriatric psychiatry house-calls practice, where she helps manage patients with Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and other chronic conditions — the same complex cases MCM is known for. She personally trains MCM's nurse practitioners and oversees every care plan and care team.
